With tears in her eyes, Wapakoneta High School graduate Hope Gossard was crowned the 2016 Miss Summer Moon Scholarship Pageant Queen Wednesday night.
The 17-year-old will represent Wapakoneta for one year. The excitement of being named the pageant winner was clear on Gossard's face as she received her crown and flowers.
“I'm very happy to have won queen,” she said. “This is my third year, and I've never won anything.”
Gossard is the daughter of Jessica and Steven Gossard. For her creative performance, she sang "Shut Up and Fish." During her platform speech, titled “Perseverance,” she spoke of staying positive and optimistic.
