In April seven years ago, Sean Wilson decided he wanted to become a priest. At the time, he was studying mechanical engineering at the University of Dayton.
“It was great, but it just didn't seem like what God wanted me to do,” Wilson said. “There was a certain restlessness there, and I was praying about it and trying to figure out what the Lord wanted me to do, and I knew this is what I had to do if I ever wanted to get a decent night's sleep again.”
He was ordained as a priest on May 21, and on July 1, he began his journey as an associate pastor for the Petersburg Parishes. This includes Immaculate Conception in Botkins, St. John in Fryburg, St. Lawrence in Rhine and St. Joseph in Wapakoneta.
He was placed in the Petersburg Parishes by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. At 26 years old, the Vandalia native is the youngest priest in the Archdiocese.
