On Friday, the Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Wapakoneta Police and the Grand Lake Drug Task Force were able to take a Wapakoneta man into custody after threats were made to shoot police officers. The man was located outside a residence walking in the city of Wapakoneta.
Area citizens and family alerted law enforcement of the subject acting in a strange manner and also making comments to shoot police. Sheriff’s deputies, Task Force Members and Wapakoneta Police located the subject and he was taken into custody without incident Friday afternoon. He was then transported to a medical facility for evaluation.
Sheriff Solomon commented on the matter being a medical issue more than a criminal matter.
“In any medical issue there is little information that is allowed to be released therefore there will be no further release of information on the incident,” he said.
