First-ever Blessing of the Badges takes place at Jamboree

Saturday's events at the Cridersville Fireman's Jamboree included one new event to honor and pray for safety for local first responders: a Blessing of the Badges ceremony.

Pastor Jon Spyker of the Cridersville Church of the Nazarene and Pastor Casey Irwin of Cridersville United Methodist Church said special prayers for Fire, EMS and police officers, while several local first responders stood together. Each officer present also had his badge anointed with oil and was prayed over for protection and safety.
