Wapakoneta High School Art Club came in second place in the Ohio Department of Transportation District 7 2016 Paint the Plow competition.
WHS Art Club's plow depicted a snowy backdrop with cartoonish car drivers and a snowplow driver. The safety message students wanted to share was “Don't Crowd the Plow.” This was displayed prominently in their design.
Around eight art club students worked on the plow sporadically over the course of a month, Art Club adviser Suzanne Temple said.
The winning blades will be displayed at parades, festivals and fairs throughout the District 7 area, the release states. And keep an eye out on the roads this winter, as the WHS painted plow will be put to use on district roads.
