At the beginning of June, the Waynesfield Police Department began their fundraising campaign to help get the funds for a new K9 dog. Waynesfield PD Chief Nathan Motter sent out over 200 letters to local businesses at the end of last week in the hopes of raising funds for the K9 program.

“That’s kind of the first phase of the fundraising,” Motter said. “We’re going to go through that and see how much support we get through area businesses.”

Chief Motter not only sent letters to Auglaize and Allen County businesses but he also sent them out to businesses of Hardin, Mercer, Logan and Shelby County with the hopes of getting closer to the $15,000 needed for a new K9.

Anyone who wishes to donate can mail a check made out to the Village of Waynesfield, Attn: K9 Program, to PO Box 128, Waynesfield, OH 45896.
