Waynesfield-Goshen High School senior Jonnell Case was named the recipient of the Franklin B. Walter All Scholastic Achievement Award Wednesday night.
A student was chosen from each of the six districts in Auglaize County to be recognized at the award ceremony, held at Wapakoneta High School. The county-wide winner of the All Scholastic Achievement Award was then named at its conclusion.
“I know a whole bunch of people deserved it, and they probably deserved it more than me, but I feel very honored to receive this,” Case said.
This scholastic award program was established in 1990 to honor seniors in Ohio who show commitment to academic achievement, personal goals and community service. Because Case was named the Auglaize County winner, she has the opportunity to be recognized at the state level at a special recognition luncheon April 13.Waynesfield-Goshen High School Principal Becky Diglia named Case's accomplishments and activities while in school. She is the treasurer of the National Honor Society, is ranked first in her senior class with a 4.0 GPA and takes all the highest level courses offered. Her activities include marching band, cross country and track, among others.
