The one thing the runners could not stop talking about Saturday was the weather.
Arlen Glick, 25, of Massilon, who won the Grand Lake Marathon in 2:44:35 was no exception. He said the number one thing that contributed to his success was “the course and the weather.” He admitted that his win wasn’t totally unexpected, but that people in years past have run faster times. Glick said he was coming off of a knee injury the previous month.
The first overall female finisher, Lynn Huwer, 33, of Coldwater came in with a chip time of 3:16:10. She gave credit not only to the good weather, but the people cheering her on.
“My husband, kids, mother in law, were there and it was encouraging.” she said.
