A Wapakoneta man is serving time in the Mercer County Jail for crimes that happened in other counties.
Dennis Shroyer, 58, of Kohler Road in Wapakoneta, was convicted through a plea agreement on Sept. 6 in Hardin County. He faced two counts of identity fraud and one count of additional money laundering prohibitions, all class 3 felonies. The charges stemmed from a March 10 theft from the Coldwater Young Farmers auction.
Shroyer was sentenced to 60 days on each charge, to be served concurrently; he was given the option to serve the time either in the Mercer County Jail or a multi-county correctional center. He was also sentenced to complete 75 hours of community service.
