DD board shares procedure to join new list for services

The simple phrase is “Fix the List.” That’s what a number of Ohio associations — stakeholders with the Ohio Board of Developmental Disabilities — collaborated to accomplish when they announced the new 2018 Waiting List Rule.

The new waiting list process was explained to Auglaize County residents Tuesday by Adam Herman, communications director with the Ohio Association of County Boards of DD during a session organized by the Auglaize County Board of DD. He outlined a history of the former process to get in line for financial assistance and rolled out the new need-based assessment that will determine who gets a waiver to help pay for specialized services. Medicaid waivers can be used to fund those services not available through county-based services.
