Cridersville locals had the chance to really connect with the town’s history during a Cridersville Historical Society presentation on Monday evening, hosted by Greg Myers.
The presentation, titled “The Crider Connection,” recounted the role Ephraim and Polly Crider, who moved to the area in the mid-1800s, played in founding the village now bearing their name.
While it’s unclear when exactly the family moved to western Ohio — sometime between 1847 and 1851, according to the village historians — the Criders were the first to envision a village taking root.
