Christopher John Steinbrunner, of Wapakoneta, was sentenced Jan. 9 on an amended charge of attempted possession of methamphetamine, a third degree felony, and possession of methamphetamine, a fifth degree felony. Steinbrunner was sentenced on charge 1 to 36 months in the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections at Orient, and 12 months on charge 2. His operator's license was suspended for five years.
Steinbrunner was originally charged with possession of drugs, a second degree felony, and possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony, for offenses that occurred on Sept. 14. 2017. A pretrial hearing was held Oct. 16, at 10:30 a.m. A second pretrial hearing was set for Oct. 31, at 11:15 a.m. A negotiated plea agreement was filed Nov. 1, wherein defendant was found guilty of amended charge one, attempted possession of methamphetamine, a third degree felony, and possession of methamphetamine, a fifth degree felony.
