Although the lone bid the county commissioners received for Auglaize Acres on Dec. 5 was low, the bidder, Hillstone Healthcare, has initiated talks targeted toward purchasing the facility.
The Commissioners on Jan. 4, accepted a letter of intent regarding the sale. Auglaize County Administrator Erica Preston said this is an initial step that hopefully, will eventually lead to a purchase agreement.
Commissioner Doug Spencer said Thursday that several things have to happen.
One, the purchase price is now in the ballpark of $1.7 million. Second, the company, which is called Auglaize Holdings LLC for the purpose of this transaction, must...
