New information on the Blackhoof Street bridge project took center stage at Monday’s meeting of the Wapakoneta City Council.
Safety-Service Director Bill Rains reported to council that the reopening of the Blackhoof Street bridge will be delayed because of Ohio Department of Transportation rules.
Rains said that was when the city discovered that ODOT rules state that any concrete poured after Oct. 15 must wait 45 days.
Rains told councilors that he and the engineering department suggested several methods of speeding up the curing process, but ODOT refused.
