Money is no longer an obstacle for outfitting the Wapakoneta Police Department officers with body cameras.

The department received an $8,400 donation Thursday from the Wapakoneta Lions Club.

“We did put in the budget for this year to get them (cameras), but we obviously weren’t expecting such a donation,” Police Chief Russel Hunlock said after the presentation. “We’re just so thankful that they thought of us and wanted to do this for us.”
