The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a personal injury traffic crash that occurred on Hardin Wapakoneta Road north of Botkins Road, Van Buren Township in Shelby County.
At approximately 8:27 p.m. Sunday, a motorcycle was traveling southbound on Hardin Wapakoneta Road when the driver failed to negotiate a curve to the left. The motorcycle traveled off the west edge, lost control, struck a ditch and overturned, ejecting the driver. Life Flight St. Vincent/St. Rita's transported the driver to St. Rita's Hospital in Lima for serious visible injuries.
The driver was identified as Paul T. Brookhart, 24, of Wapakoneta. The motorcycle was removed from the scene via Meyer's Towing Service.
The Anna Medic Squad, Botkins Fire Department, Van Buren Fire Department and the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the scene.
The traffic crash remains under investigation.
