Sheriff's office investigating alleged sex offense

The Auglaize County Sheriff's Office is investigating an alleged sex offense that occurred late Monday night at the Auglaize County Fair, according to a press release.

Preliminary information indicates a possible sex crime involving individuals who knew each other, the release states.

"There is no reason for anyone to be concerned with a sex offender lurking at the fair," Sheriff Al Solomon said. "This is an incident where the parties knew each other and an allegation has been made."

No other details were released and the incident remains under investigation.
