Local and area residents came out to show their support for local law enforcement, fire and EMS workers during National Night Out on Tuesday.
During the event, residents got a chance to chat with officials and EMS workers, while enjoying some festivities and fun activities. Wapakoneta Police Chief Russel Hunlock expressed his gratitude toward locals coming out.
“I feel that it was a big success. It gets bigger and bigger every year and we’re thankful for that,” Hunlock said. “This event went off without a hitch. We’re thankful that our citizens come out.”
During the night kids and adults got to interact one-on-one with law enforcement officials and EMS workers. Kids got a chance to take a look at what is inside a police cruiser and see what emergency service vehicles can do.
The locals also enjoyed the evening, whether it was checking out the Life Flight helicopter landing on and taking off the baseball field in the park, or watching a playful and fun demonstration with law enforcement K9s.
