The new Wapakoneta High School FFA building benefits FFA students like graduate Michala Binkley and junior Taylor Davis.

Without the use of the barn, the two would not have had space to raise pigs to take to the county fair. Construction on the barn began in mid-October but the idea for it goes back a lot further.

“I've had an idea of doing this for 10 to 15 years, but until the school bought the ground, there was no place to put it,” WHS agriculture teacher and FFA Advisor Ron Brown said. “You always have certain things in your vision of what you'd like to do, and this is one thing I thought would be really neat.”

Binkley and Davis are both appreciative of being able to use the barn.

“I feel like it's a really good experience,” Binkley said. “I feel like I would have loved to do it sooner than just like, this being my last year.”
