What made Orlando-based writer Tom Saunders want to adapt Linda Brandt's story into a screenplay was the fact that it involves so many miracles.
A pre-production red carpet gala was recently held in Florida to announce a forthcoming movie about Brandt's miraculous healing process, a press release states. The movie, Born Again...And Again is set to be released Good Friday, April 14, 2017.
What caused Brandt to black out 12 years ago was an aggressive, non-malignant brain tumor. Her surgeon was hesitant to operate on her because the tumor had grown through the center of her cerebellum, wrapped around it and grew spiny legs around her brain stem, the movie synopsis states. She was told her chance of dying during surgery was 50 percent.
Three weeks later, after contracting spinal meningitis, Brandt flat lined for seven minutes. According to the synopsis, during this near death experience, she was reunited with her late son Scottie, who was killed two years earlier by a drunk driver at the age of 32.
She died and was born again.
Saunders said with the film being in the pre-production phase, everything is in place and the script has been sent out to 12 different producers. Filming has yet to begin. In the press release about the gala, the movie is described as a dramatic documentary of what really occurred.
