Sheriff’s office investigating death of Wapakoneta man

According to a press release, the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office along with the Auglaize County Coroner is investigating the death of a 50-year-old Wapakoneta man. At approximately 5:45 p.m. Thursday a call was received of an unresponsive male trapped under a vehicle. Upon arrival Buckland Fire Department, Cridersville EMS and Auglaize County deputies found the male unresponsive and deceased.

Preliminary investigations indicate the man was working under a vehicle that was supported by jacking devices and the devices failed, causing the vehicle to fall onto the victim. No foul play is suspected.

The matter remains under investigation.
