Locals literally got a taste of locally-grown food versus grocery-store-bought during the Farm-to-Table Experience event held at the Auglaize County Library in Wapakoneta on Tuesday.
The event was put on by the Auglaize County Libraries in partnership with the Auglaize County Ohio State University Extension Office. Extension Educator Jeff Stachler gave a presentation on different aspects of farm-to-table, which describes the journey that food makes from planting to consumption, and there was also a taste testing to quiz participants’ perceptions between local and store-bought and organic and regular foods.
The event had a turnout of 32 people, and according to Andrea Burton, Adult Services Coordinator for the libraries, around 80 people attended the series of Farm-to-Table Experience presentations held at all six library locations.
