Good news for the Neil Armstrong Air & Space Museum is likely in store, as the museum got word that it has been included in the state’s capital appropriations bill to receive $900,000.

Although the budget will not be official until the governor signs it, which is anticipated to take place in mid-May, Museum Director Chris Burton said there are not usually many changes made to the introduced bill before it becomes official.

Burton explained that the expansion is a special project to help prepare for the 50th anniversary of the moon landing in 2019.

Right now, Burton said the museum is still early in the process for the expansion. The plan is to garner more funds from private investors and companies and other funding sources in order to do a larger expansion.
