The Wapakoneta Area Economic Development Council held its annual meeting on Thursday.

WAEDC Executive Director Greg Myers told luncheon attendees greenfield sites are in demand. When the Job Ready Site was certified in Auglaize County in 2010, the country was in the midst of the Great Recession, he said.

The 2015 Economic Development Report, given to all in attendance, states that sites that are shovel-ready and certified are at the top of the list and at last the West Central Ohio Industrial Center is in a very good position.

The meeting's guest speaker was Brandon Simmons a project manager for Jobs Ohio, a privatized economic development organization responsible for creating jobs and attracting new capital investment in Ohio, the meeting's program states.
