Mercy Unlimited personnel are wrapping up support efforts with the multi-agency long-term recovery team for the Koneta Hotel fire victims. All of the residents have been relocated, Director Tammy Brown confirmed on Mercy Unlimited’s Facebook page. She had set a personal goal of housing all who had been displaced by the fire by Jan. 24.
In an email statement Brown said, “This has been a challenge to me personally, but with the community’s great outpouring of dollars, furniture and clothing, it has gone extremely well. Auglaize County has a super disaster plan that starts with the fire chiefs, then the EMA, then Community Emergency Response Team and finally Mercy Unlimited, a partner in the Auglaize County Long Term Recovery Team.”
Brown said now that families are housed, Mercy Unlimited will make one last call to each family to ask if there are any basic needs that have not been met. Follow-up reports will be given to the Community Emergency Response Team. After that point, the non-profit’s involvement goes back to...
