After about a month of negations AMETEK Westchester Plastics and United Electrical Radio and Machine Workers of America Local 766 came to an agreement on a contract for the next three years. After the contract had been approved by the union Sunday, spokesmen for the local union shared their thoughts.
“This was supposedly their last and final offer,” Union President Marty Chambers said. “It’s better than the offer we got Friday night.”
Chambers declined to talk about some contract specifics, such as wage increases. He said a strike is always on the table, “If it had gotten voted down...
