Housing discussions continue

Wapakoneta officials are moving forward with their idea to encourage the development of additional housing units in the city; members of the Lands and Buildings Committee met Monday to review a draft Request for Proposal to construct a townhouse apartment complex on the corner of Eastown Road and Middle Street, a parcel of land owned by the city.

Housing has been identified as a need, not only in Wapakoneta but throughout the greater Auglaize and Allen counties area. With Pratt Industries under construction in the city’s Job Ready Site just south of town, there’s already been an increased need for smaller and mid-sized homes as well as more upscale apartment units.
