Cridersville not yet out of the weeds

While a scrapped gun range, resort, and restaurant on the east side of I-75 has become an afterthought for many Cridersville citizens, one thing has not: weeds.

Multiple residents of the village–and Councilman Frank Oen–voiced their concern regarding the enforcement of ordinances at the October Cridersville Village Council meeting.

Lieutenant Brian Creech, who is currently serving as active chief while chief John Drake, who is under investigation by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, is on paid administrative leave, fielded a number of questions from Oen and those in attendance regarding the process in which Creech and the police department enforce code violations.

In March of this year, the village hired Larry Drain as a Code Enforcement Officer to survey...
