German students enjoy tour of city

Fresh off trips to Chicago, Columbus and Cedar Point, a group of exchange students from Lengerich, Germany are really getting to see the country. And now that they're back in Wapakoneta, the group of 10 high schoolers picked up right where they left off before their excursion around the Midwest.

Last week, the students got a tour of the Wapakoneta Police Department, went for a swim at the Wapakoneta Family YMCA, and ate lunch with the mayor, Tom Stinebaugh.

On Thursday, they visited several other local landmarks, touring the historic Auglaize County Courthouse, eating lunch at Wapakoneta Eagles Aerie #691, and then browsing through the gallery at Riverside Art Center.

At the Courthouse, the visitors were guided by Auglaize County Commissioner Doug Spencer, visiting the offices of the many county employees who work in the Courthouse, including Mark Spees, Auglaize County's Domestic Relations, Juvenile, and Municipal Court Judge.
