The Botkins Local School District Board of Education tentatively made a commitment to help fund the installation of lighting around the school's track and soccer field during their regular meeting on Wednesday night.
The resolution to allocate $50,000 for the installation of the lighting system ends a months long saga that has been contemplated at Board meetings since the beginning of the year.
Representatives from the Botkins Soccer Club first approached the Board in January about the installation of the lighting system, which would allow the club and the school to host night games and track meets.
