It was nine years ago that several area ministers got together to plan the service project now known as Servant’s Day, and this year’s event just benefitted from a Throwback Thursday event, held last night at J Marie’s in downtown Wapakoneta.
The event had a clerical theme to represent the efforts of Ministerial Association members and friends who worked as guest servers and entertainers. The featured food items offered were Praying Pretzels, Good Shepherd’s Pie, and Saintly Sausage Pizza.
Servants Day organizes volunteers to make repairs for those in need in and around Wapakoneta. Each year approximately 100 local volunteers work on 30-35 maintenance and repair projects. In 2018, Servants Day will be held on Saturday, Sept. 15, with Sept. 22 as the rain date.
