Wapakoneta City Council’s Tourism Committee recommended – and received council approval – to spend no more than $3,000 to purchase and retrofit a golf cart to water downtown flower planters.
Mayor Tom Stinebaugh – who wrote the application during the early minutes of the 42-minute committee meeting – said watering the flowers is typically handled by either volunteers who haul their own water or city crews using the tanker truck, specifically for the hanging baskets.
