The Wapakoneta Planning Commission officially denied a request to erect a billboard on the wall of a downtown building at their meeting on Monday.
Randy LaMarr, Sr., who owns 1 W. Auglaize St., proposed a sign to be placed on the east wall of the building along Willipie St.
The planned sign, LaMarr said at the February meeting when the issue was first tabled, would be an 8-feet by 20-feet flat panel and would not protrude beyond the window sills, below the ledges of the second floor windows.
The billboard would advertise for LaMarr's son, Randy LaMarr Jr.'s St. Marys law practice.
The commission voted 2-1 to disapprove the conditional use permit.
