Art Center debuts new felt art class

Riverside Art Center in Wapakoneta played host to a different kind of art workshop this weekend, as a special guest came to town to teach lucky participants a brand new medium to work with.

Boyd Hastings, a former teacher from Brookville, spent Saturday afternoon instructing a class on the technique and style of felt art.

Each participant spent the session creating their very own work of art, adding the medium to the long list already practiced, displayed, and taught at Riverside.

Misty Steinke, the artist liaison for the Riverside Art Center, was instrumental toward bringing Hastings in for a class. After meeting the award winning artist at a festival in Yellow Springs, Steinke knew it would be a good match for Riverside.
