The Auglaize County Health Department's Board of Health met for its regular meeting on Thursday morning, and the focus of the meeting again centered on the influenza outbreak in Ohio.
Brenda Eiting, Director of Nursing at the Health Department, brought the board up to date on some of the recent numbers regarding the flu and immunizations.
Last month the department administered 95 flu shots, bringing the season total up to 605 immunizations.
Eiting again stressed the importance of getting a flu shot, recommending that everyone over the age of 6 months receive the immunization.
The idea that you can get the flu from the flu shot, she said, is a myth.
46 states have been upgraded to "widespread," the highest grade of flu activity.
