Benjamin R. Hoge, of Wapakoneta, was charged with possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony, for an offense committed on June 9, 2017. Hoge has pled not guilty to these charges. A pre-trial hearing was scheduled for Aug. 4 at 1 p.m. Hoge's second pretrial was set for Aug. 25 at 1 p.m. A hearing was set for Sept. 5 at 8:30 a.m. on change of plea filed. Hoge failed to appear on Sept. 5 and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.
He was arrested the same day and appeared before the court. The court ordered a $100,000 bond with 10 percent provision. A pretrial was set for Sept. 12, wherein a negotiated plea agreement was filed. Hoge was found guilty of the charge. Sentencing was for Nov. 17 and continued to Dec. 5. Hoge was sentenced to five years of community control sanctions to include 180 days in the Auglaize County Correctional Center, completion of the W.O.R.T.H. Center program and have his driver’s license suspended for five years.
