City mulls garage sale rules

The Wapakoneta City Council is considering an ordinance that will change the way residents conduct garage sales.

Councilors held a first reading Monday on a measure that establishes a new section of the city’s codified ordinances: Section 1292.22 Garage Sales.

The ordinance is designed to stem “permanent” garage sales and establish rules for their conduct. It begins by defining a garage sale as including porch, patio, basement, yard or block sales and states they are subject to the following:
