A Cridersville man is being held in the Auglaize County Jail on a rape charge.
According to online court records, Tylor Joel Fugatt, 22, 505 E. High St., Cridersville, appeared via video on Monday for a bond hearing in Auglaize County Municipal Court. Judge Gary Herman ordered Fugatt held on a $250,000 bond with a 10 percent cash provision on one count of rape, a first-degree felony. Fugatt is scheduled to appear at 3:15 p.m. Nov. 3 for a preliminary hearing in Auglaize County Municipal Court.
Herman also appointed a public defender to serve as Fugatt's defense counsel in the matter.
A preliminary hearing is held to determine if there is enough evidence to bind the case over to Common Pleas Court, where felony charges must be handled. The alleged offense took place in the 100 block of South Main Street early Sunday morning. The investigation is being handled by the St. Marys Police Department.
