Sertoma aids local charities

The Wapakoneta Sertoma Club met Monday at the Astro Lanes Bowling Center, 1113 Apollo Drive, during which President Josh Little gave donation checks to several local charity organizations. A representative of each group talked briefly about their organization and what they do.

The first person to receive a check and speak was Carol Berg who was there on behalf of God’s Store House. The next recipient of donations was the Auglaize-Mercer Shriners for the Children Hospital, with Bill Garlow representing them to receive the check.

The other recipients of donation checks were Ron Brown of the Wapakoneta FFA; Denise Olberding of the Wapakoneta Community Thanksgiving Meal; Elaine Poppe who was there for the Children’s Hometown Holiday; and Wapakoneta Fire Chief Kendall Krites, who accepted the check for the Christmas Cheer program.
