The Uniopolis Jamboree took place over the weekend, with the inaugural run of its newest event — a quarter auction.

“The first quarter auction went better than anticipated,” Blank said. “We are looking at making this bigger the next time around.”

The 10th Annual Car Show also had a good turnout, Blank said. At least around a dozen vehicles participated, and many of the vehicles had their own unique stories, as told by their owners.

Linda Hertenstein of Wapakoneta brought her ’93 Ford Ranger, which she said has all matching serial numbers — meaning the vehicle is still comprised of all its original main parts from the factory. Sitting on the hood of the Ranger was a unique looking doll which Hertenstein called a “Sassy Doll.”

Another car show participant, Travis Mercer of Delphos, had a 2014 Jeep Patriot decked out in a unique style — zombies. The vehicle is a zombie-themed EMS transport vehicle and has been thoroughly personalized with different custom designs and decals that have special meaning to Mercer, who used to work in the EMS field.

See Monday's paper for the full story and more photos from the Jamboree.
