Heritage Trails Park District’s involvement with the Moon City Fishing Derby at Moon Fest resulted in a boost of exposure for the park district within Wapakoneta.

The park district assisted with the fishing derby Saturday morning, during which Administrator Terry McDonald took several photos of the children and families who participated, which totaled to 17. Also, it gave McDonald an opportunity to share more about the park district during Wapakoneta’s signature festival.

McDonald posted a photo album on the park district’s Facebook page, which she said garnered a higher number of hits from views than usual.

In response, Park Commissioner Jim Heinrich said the park district should perhaps take note of doing more activities for children to be involved in, since it, in turn, gets parents and relatives involved and learning more about the park district too.
