With two weeks under their belt, the Wapakoneta Police Department’s newest dispatchers Chelsea Luebrecht and Alicia Wright have settled into their posts. Both of the Wapakoneta natives are excited to be a part of this.
Alicia Wright, a 2011 graduate of Wapakoneta High School, first heard about the position in mid-April when her mother told her about it and applied for it right away.
She feels excited about finally having a position in the field as she has always wanted to be a part of it. Her brother, Adam, is currently a member of the Buckland Fire Department and she would also listen in when his pager would go off.
Class of 2009 Wapakoneta High School graduate and Ohio State University-Lima graduate Chelsea Luebrecht doesn’t quite remember where she first heard about the position, but decided to go ahead and apply for it.
Luebrecht had been looking at jobs in the Columbus and Chicago areas but wasn’t having any luck with job hunting. It was to the point where she said she wasn’t too picky about jobs. Ever since she has taken her post as dispatcher, Luebrecht has welcomed the tasks that come with the job.
