A final pretrial scheduled today for the murder case of Jade Miller has been moved to two weeks out in Auglaize County Common Pleas Court.
Miller, 34, of Wapakoneta, was arrested Dec. 18 on indictments connected with the death of Michael R. Angel of Lima. Angel was struck by a vehicle allegedly driven by Miller on Brighthorn Street just south of North Street on Sept. 1. There are currently a total of three charges against Miller: two counts of murder, both with no degree, and one count of aggravated vehicular homicide, a third-degree felony.
Today's scheduled pretrial resulted in around a half hour of discussion between Miller and her defense attorney Robert Grzybowski, as well as arrangements between both the prosecuting and defense counsel and the Auglaize County Common Pleas Court for scheduling.
According to Judge Frederick Pepple, both sides need some more time to discuss negotiations and are "just not ready for a final pretrial." The pretrial has now been moved to July 21 at 2:30 p.m. The jury trial for the case, currently slated for Aug. 2-4, will stay put for the time being.
