America will be celebrating its 240th birthday this coming Monday, and to help celebrate it, St. Joseph Catholic Church will be hosting its 66th Annual St. Joe July 4th Festival on Sunday from 3 p.m. to midnight and Monday from 9 a.m. to midnight. This free admission event will have plenty of food, games, and of course fireworks. There should be something there for everyone.
One of the newest activities added to the festival’s roster is Red Dragon Laser Tag from Hamersville, which will occur on Sunday from 3 to 9:30 p.m., and Monday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. around the south end of the fairgrounds.
According to Mike Wurst, the festival coordinator, this was chosen to help give the teens something to do.
“Serving this age group has been tough but we found this laser tag company so we’re going to try that,” said Wurst. “Most of the time teens don’t have much to do outside of walk the fairgrounds. We’re trying to give them something to do.”
