WAPAKONETA, OH
According to a press release from the Wapakoneta Police Department, at 7:31 a.m. today, officers and emergency personnel from the Wapakoneta Fire Department responded to the CSX railroad in the area of the train depot just north of Auglaize Street in regard to a report of someone being hit by a train. According to Police Chief Russel Hunlock, a 36-year-old male was discovered lying beside the tracks by a citizen.
"A 36-year-old male from Wapakoneta was transported to St. Rita's Medical Center by Wapakoneta EMS for injuries sustained," said Chief Hunlock.
According to Hunlock, it is unknown exactly when this incident occurred and the incident remains under investigation.
