It’s not football season yet, but that doesn’t stop some members of the Wapakoneta High School drumline from participating in similar activities in the off-season. The WHS high school drumline competition group, which is called “Impulse Drumline,” performed Sunday at the state competition for the Ohio Indoor Performance Association (OIPA), which was held at Wapakoneta High School.
According to statistics posted on the OIPA website, Impulse Drumline placed third in their division.
According to Impulse Drumline’s director Steve Wimmers, the drumline group this year is comprised of 24 members, all of which are in the band program within the Wapakoneta City School District. The members range from grades seven to 12, although most are in high school.
