Groups complete Walk to the Cross

Good Friday marked the last day of the Walk to the Cross, a physical fitness challenge in which members of several churches and groups attempted to accumulate 12,200 miles of walking, running and fitness that equaled the distance between Wapakoneta to Jerusalem and back.

While the final number is not in, Rev. John Foster of the Salem United Methodist Church has tallied up the miles to 12,700 miles — more than meeting their goals.

“The churches and the organizations that were a part of it were very enthusiastic about this,” Foster said. “Hopefully this will be an ongoing thing.”
