Incumbent Don Regula won a Republican spot for Auglaize County Commissioner by a solid margin after Tuesday’s primary election. Regula received 6,572 votes, a 66.26 percent majority; challenger Dan Lee tallied a total of 3,346 votes, or 33.74 percent.

Following a win in the general election in November, Regula would take office for a third four-year term, starting Jan. 3, 2017. He has been a commissioner since 2009.

Dan Lee responded to election results by saying he is glad the county voters had a choice between two Republican candidates in the primary. Tuesday’s primary marks the first time Lee, a Wapakoneta City councilman, has run for county commissioner.
