Ohio's unemployment rate bumped up around the state in December 2018, but Auglaize County remains one of the few counties with a rate under 4 percent according to the monthly information released by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (JFS) regarding Ohio's employment numbers for December.
The county's unemployment rate shot up to 3.6 percent in December with an estimated 900 people unemployed — up from November's rate of 2.9 percent — and higher than December 2017's rate of 3.3 percent.
Mercer County has the lowest rate in the state — despite its rise — at 3.1 percent. The county's November rate was 2.4 percent.
