Scoops hosting 'Day for Corey' benefit

Once again a local business and the community are rallying behind Corey Crawford and his family.

Crawford, a Wapakoneta High School graduate and a sophomore offensive lineman on the University of Findlay football team, was diagnosed with testicular cancer late last year, and has been undergoing treatments at The James Cancer Hospital in Columbus ever since.

Now, Judy DuBois, owner of Scoops Sweets and Treats and Auglaize Embroidery, is offering to use her businesses to do her part to help.

The event follows last month's Wapakoneta Area Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours, hosted by Silver Shears, which the salon used as a fundraiser for Crawford and his family.

From open to close (11 a.m. to 10 p.m.) on Thursday, Scoops will be following suit, hosting A Day for Corey, in which 15 percent of all sales will be donated to the Crawford family.

But that's not all.

50/50 raffle tickets will be for sale throughout the day, with half of those proceeds going to Crawford. There's also a long list of prizes up for grabs, as well as a silent auction to help raise more money.
